HIS STORY
Malcolm understands the beauty and power of deep struggle and moving beyond the ordinary. In the late nineties he came to America from South Africa leaving behind family, friends and all the comforts of being a middle-class South African. Over the course of twenty years, the golden thread of defining him has been that of continuous personal and professional growth, epitomized by a humble start as a stock person at a local grocery store and since achieving success in the banking industry in sales and marketing as a top personal banker, business development officer, mortgage banker, business banker and recently ended in financial services industry as director of marketing in a business financial planning firm with numerous awards and certifications. During this period, he worked with many successful professionals and business CEOs from a variety of industries.
What makes Malcolm unique is that he is self-taught in all his endeavors including ten different sports. He played squash and racquetball at tournaments at elite levels, top club tennis and three musical instruments amongst others. He is now taking on his 11th sport having studied it out of his failures and mistakes, wrote a playbook, coached and wanting to play at a senior professional level by year end in national pickleball tournaments . With these cumulative skills Malcolm has started a journey over time of teaching mental mechanics and brain techniques in sports, business and personal life in supporting people to achieve optimal performance in their endeavors. His journey has certainly not been smooth, but in the past filled with challenges ranging from not knowing anyone when he arrived in this country, totaling a rental vehicle his first hour in Michigan, raising a family with two young children, starting their lives over from scratch, to clouded goals and declining markets. These experiences have all been the basis to Malcolm’s success which gave him strength, validity and value to his programs.
Malcolm holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from the University of Western Cape, South Africa and is a PPR Certified Coach at pickleball. He has read hundreds of books on personal and business development. He describes his genius as enhancing your personal, business and sporting passion and to unleash your unique potential. Malcolm is passionate about coaching his subjects’ inner world and thinking to bring out their true identity and energy in business, sport and personally. Communication through one’s innate energy zones, rendering a state of alchemy transmutation is a skill which he freely engages. This agility and command have evolved through unraveling and understanding his business and personal experiences, together with experiences playing eleven different self-taught sports. He is intrigued by natural talent, with an affinity for jazz, and is a proponent of classical whistling. He plays the cello, pan flute and saxophone demanding improvement from previous levels of accomplishment. Harnessing this state of perturbation is a mode of constant learning, which pushes the
mind towards optimal performance, flow and delivery under pressure.
Malcolm is married to his wife Lorna and has two adult children Joel and Kirstin with two grandchildren Noah and Elena.
